At DDF we use a large capacity Water Jet machine that can accommodate large jobs. We can cut 2D parts for many applications such as sculptures, furniture components, props, set pieces, and mechanical assemblies. We use fixtures to precisely locate parts as needed and also cut from full sheets of raw materials.

For a more accurate cut, we use a 5-axis water jet machine. This capability allows us to cut a clean square edge along the entire part. Machines that do not offer this capability will produce an undesirable slight bevel to the edge. This is because the shape of the jet gets wider the further it gets from the nozzle. Our machine uses the 5-axis head to compensate for the angle of the jet and creates a clean edge that is true and square to the surface of the material being cut.
